ASG Scholar Award, American Society of Genealogists

The goal of this annual award is to "recognize talent and build genealogical expertise by providing promising genealogists the opportunity to receive advanced academic training in genealogy." Applicants submit a "published work or a manuscript of work in progress, to be judged by a panel of three (ASG) Fellows." The scholarship provides "$2,000, toward tuition and expenses at one of six major academic genealogical programs." To find out more, visit their website.
BCG Paul Edward Sluby Sr. Scholarship for African American Students

This new scholarship, provided by the Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG), will be awarded to up to three African Americans "to participate in national genealogical institutes." The award will "cover up to $1,700 of the tuition, travel, and lodging expenses." The application requires an essay and a sample of genealogical research.
