Introduction
Lisa Stokes, AG, is a professional genealogist accredited in the Mid-South region of the United States.

She serves as a Commissioner for the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen) and leads the Education Committee. In this capacity, she runs the ICAPGen Study Groups, mentoring aspiring genealogists as they learn about accreditation. Lisa has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Brigham Young University (BYU) and loves to teach, lecture, and coach others in overcoming research challenges.
Lisa co-coordinated “Becoming an Accredited Genealogist” in 2022 and 2023 and presented at RootsTech, SLIG Day at the Family History Library, and the BYU Conference on Family History and Genealogy. She also teaches an online citation course to help genealogists simplify citation writing.
Lisa loves to quilt, garden, hike, and spend time with her husband, four children, and eleven grandchildren. Her favorite request from her grandchildren is, “Grandma, tell us a story about our family!”
