ABOUT ME
Introduction
Lisa Stokes, AG®, is a professional genealogist accredited in the Mid-South region of the United States. She serves as the Past President of the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen). In the past, she led the Education Committee and helped run the ICAPGen Study Groups, mentoring aspiring genealogists as they learned about accreditation. Lisa has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Brigham Young University (BYU) and loves teaching, lecturing, and coaching others to overcome research challenges.
This is Lisa’s fourth time coordinating “Becoming an Accredited Genealogist.” She has presented at RootsTech, NGS, Summit of Excellence, and the BYU Conference on Family History and Genealogy. She also teaches an online citation course to help genealogists simplify citation writing and blogs about simplified citations at LisaStokesHeritageResearch.com.
Lisa loves to quilt, garden, hike, and spend time with her husband, four children, and thirteen grandchildren. Her favorite request from her grandchildren is, “Grandma, tell us a story about our family!”
