ABOUT ME
Introduction
Donna Cox Baker, PhD, is a historian and retired publishing professional who spent her career working with historical books and magazines at the University of Alabama. A decade ago, she began merging her passion for genealogy with her historical scholarship. She has served as president of the Alabama Genealogical Society, a board member of the Alabama Historical Association, and co-chairperson of the Statewide Initiatives Committee for the Alabama Bicentennial Commission.

Since retiring in 2021, Donna has focused on building a new career that combines genealogy and history through a blended approach she calls “genohistory.” Her website, Genohistory.com, serves as a hub for others exploring this interdisciplinary method. Donna has authored three books, coedited a fourth, and has a fifth forthcoming: A Quick Guide to Zotero 7: For Research in Genealogy, History, Et Al. She continues to publish articles and blog posts on history, genealogy, and genohistory.
