UGA Jimmy B. ParkerScholarship

Deadline May 1, 2025

Named in honor of Jimmy B. Parker, whose legacy of service to the genealogical community covered more than 50 years, this full-tuition scholarship will be awarded to an individual who has “demonstrated commitment to genealogical excellence and community involvement.” The winner will be announced on July 1st and their course of choice pre-reserved.

Laura G. Prescott SLIGScholarship

Deadline May 1, 2025

This scholarship was instituted in 2019 to honor Laura G. Prescott (1958-2018) “in recognition of her friendship to all, her professional accomplishments, and her lifelong passion for genealogical education.” It is designed to support students pursuing genealogical studies. The winner will be announced on July 1st, and their course of choice will be pre-reserved for them.

SLIG First time AttendeesScholarship

This scholarship was created in 2016 to provide entrance opportunities for students who have not yet attended an institute, offering financial support and encouragement to those pursuing educational growth. Its goal is to help broaden access to learning experiences and empower students to further their academic and professional development.

SLIG FoundationsScholarship

Deadline May 1, 2025

Formerly the SLIG Intermediate Foundations Scholarship, this award is aimed at individuals who have not yet attended an institute but need to strengthen their intermediate-level research knowledge and skills. The scholarship helps prepare recipients to attend future institutes by providing the necessary foundation to advance their genealogical education and enhance their professional development.
