ABOUT ME
Introduction
Jeane Erickson Burton is an Accredited Genealogist who specializes in Swedish research. She currently volunteers as a research specialist at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition to Scandinavian research, she has interests in UK family history and her deeply rooted Utah heritage.
An experienced educator, Jeane holds a graduate degree in Teaching and Learning from Brigham Young University. She has taught students from elementary school through college and maintains a K–8 teaching certificate with a focus on history. At BYU, she completed family history coursework including Nordic, Germanic, and English paleography, and served as a teaching assistant for the Scandinavian Documents and Paleography class.

Jeane is active in research, education, and outreach within the genealogy field. She directed a FamilySearch center for young adults, mentored others preparing for accreditation, and has presented at conferences including RootsTech and the BYU Family History Conference. She enjoys translating Swedish historical documents and old family letters.
Jeane and her husband, Steven, are fortunate to be the parents of two daughters who are likewise inspired by the stories of their ancestors.
