ABOUT ME
Introduction
Amber Kirkendall is the Park Ranger and Volunteer Coordinator at the National Park Service’s Homestead National Historical Park in Beatrice, Nebraska. In 2015, she received an MA in Historical Studies from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and in 2009, she earned a BS in History from Peru State College. Amber started as an intern at Homestead National Historical Park in 2018 and has been there ever since. She is passionate about unearthing historical stories and connecting them to modern audiences. Amber is the descendant of Gustav Brandt, a homesteader who came to the United States from Germany on the promise of the Homestead Act.
